I have a hallway that has Bruce 3/8" pre eng. hardwood glued onto concrete. The hardwood stops and then meets with carpet. This weekend I'd like to remove the carpet and install the same hardwood in its place. Since the boards that meet with the carpet have been cut evenly to meet the carpet they have to be removed.

How hard is to to remove glue down 3/8" eng. hardwood on concrete?

Do you have any tips for easily removing it? Should I grab a crowbar and pry the boards up or use a blade to slice through the glue?

Cut the middle out of each board needing to be removed. Then carefully pry the pieces left, out. Scrape all the glue up, along with what is caked in the grooves

Now on your weave boards, you have to cut the bottom of the groove side off.

Glue and weight the modified laced ends.

Thank you austin and ken, those tips are very helpful. I never thought of using a circular saw to split the boards vertically. Still sounds like its going to be a pain but hopefully removing all that old glue and splinters of wood won't be too bad....

Another quick question:

When I get to the end of my hallway where the carpet will meet the wood, what is the best way to cut the wood planks flush to meet with the carpet? Do i use a circular saw with a straight edge? Do I cut them before laying them down?

I cut them before I install them. I also try to start those rows right there, and work the rows the other way.
