Greetings,

I've just purchased 60M2 of reclaimed solid maple 3 1/4" wide strip removed from a nightclub. It was secured to a concrete floor with Sika adhesive every 15-20cm. I'm hoping to lay it in four bedrooms and hallway. I've phoned Sika and they say the only way to remove it is with a sharp blade as it's impossible to dissolve with any solvent. I'm guessing the Sika was used to level the floor in parts as it is on very thick in places. Is there any hope of removing this stuff without taking months or have I really boo booed on this purchase?
Please Help!!

Many thanks in advance.

Sudu

I think it will gum up the blades, even if the adhesive's crystalized,( from heat).

I think you may be right Howard, but it's worth a try.

I'd try a Hilti Hammer with a Vulcan scraper attachment. I have a couple for scraping up thinset. They rent them at HD. I'll bet if you take a couple boards over there, they'll let you try it.
