Hello,
Are all hardwood floors glued down?

I met a guy who is trying to sell his hardwood flooring which is still installed. I would have to remove it, and I could surely put it to use in my own home.

The home was built in 1961 and is now being demolished. I'm not even sure yet what type of floor it is exactly, will find out more tomorrow.

I was only going to salvage some other random lumber for some projects around the yard, but he offered the hardwood floors for $250. Includes kitchen, dining room and 3 bedrooms.
Sounds like a good price, but I never thought that it might be glued?? Are they all glued? or just certain types of boards?

Not all wood is glued, I have removed wood from one place, and installed it in another, It labor intenseive, but in the long run it will save you cash. Some wood you just can't get anymore(antiques pines) ect., but strip oak is readlily availible, If someone offered you cash I would take it. as long as you don't have to do anything.

A 1961 house will more than likely have diagonal 1x lumber subfloor with nailed strip hardwood. The chances of it being glued are slim to none. If you're careful with the demo, the wood should come out nicely without much damage. I've done it before with no problems.
