Reciprocating saw, flat pry bar and a hammer.cut a hole to get a good starting point, and start prying. That's how I do it.

if your are not trying to salvage I take a circular saw and run cuts perpendicular to the floor about two foot apart then a good prybar and a mallet is all you will need.

You probably are thinking to be able to salvage this so that you could use it for some other thing again though with the nail, that prevents you from doing so.

Like what is said, I suggest that you punch a hole right in it and make it big enough so that you have room to position your pry tool properly and prevent further damage to it.

But I think that there should be no problem as you can still use a filler to close out any damaged portion prying it open might have caused.
