Hi,

I removed my ceramic tile (which is the hardest labor I have ever done in my life) and the subfloor is dirty and has staples everywhere from hte metal screen that was used with the mortar. There could be 1000's of them. The subfloor is 5/8" OSB. Some staples are sticking out.. others are somewhat buried in..

I plan on putting 3/8" plywood overtop (for 3/4" strip flooring).

How should I procede?

Those staples if the were only holding the screen should be fairly light and should come out easy enough with a stand up scraper. The stand up razor scraper should even handle the heavier ones as well. I would dull the blade a bit on some concrete outside first.

That is very true...razor scraper blades work better dull and will chop most of the staples off. You can also use a heavy duty floor scraper just as well.

Just turn the sharp blade around in the tool
