I am wanting to refinish my floors in my house but the problem is that in different areas of rooms, some might be pine, some might be fir. I want to be able to sand, stain, and then varnish my floors but want it to all be one colour. What is the best way to try and tackle this and get a nice even colour throughout the two different kinds of woods.

YOU will have to test colors that are in the color pallet you want.

it can be tedious

you may need to leave the fir natural and put an amber tone to the poine, try all dark color etc.

the question really cant be answered without knowing what you want to see happen.
