We sanded and finished a preinished micro beveled american cherry floor. We sanded it down so that the bevels are gone. That was no problem. The problem is that after we applied the finish, at every butt joint (95%+) it looks like there is bleeding or something that causes all the butt ends to appear darker. I was wondering if anyone has ever seen this and if there is a solution to fixing it? Thankyou for any responses

I suspect that light has been able to penetrate betwen the end joints, thus darkening the wood ( a natural reaction to UV that cherry and many other woods do).
So not to worry too much, before long the freshly sanded surface of the boards will darken as well, and solve this apparent problem.
