Hello. We just moved into a new home and had our oak hardwood floors refinished. We used a lighter stain color with a satin finish. The polyurethane we used was water-based as from what I understand, that is the most durable. 3 coats of water based poly were applied. The floor has only been used for 2 months and the floor seems so delicate…easy to scuff, scratch, etc. We do remove our shoes and take other precautions. To give you an idea, I can easily scratch the floor with my fingernail using only mild to moderate pressure. Is this typical or is something wrong with our water based finish? Thank you in advance for the insight!

Was it a 2 component waterbased finish that was used? If not, regular watrebased finishes are not the toughest finishes.
