We had our Oak floors refinished last Oct/Nov 2013. As the title suggests, the floors were stained and then finished with three coats of a water-based polyurethane. The contractor applied the last two coats on the same day (given it was late fall, the house was also a bit on the cool side). He said that it would no be a problem; however, we noticed right from the get go that the floor scuffed very easily - leaving white streaks all over the floor. We had him back and he said it was normal. Since then the floors have gotten much worse and are covered with dozens of streaks.
Below is a link to a few pictures. These were taken several months back - the floors are much worse now. The third and fourth pictures in the series depict a spot where we cleaned a spill using a cleaner the contractor recommended. It doesn't seem right that you should easily be able to remove finish with a soft cloth/gentle cleaner. In general, it is very easy to scuff the floor.
Anyway, in your opinion is what we are seeing indeed normal?
