Honestly, if you are only going to do one job buy the Harbor Freight knock off. One of my crews uses one and it is a duplicate of the Bostitch with cheaper parts.

I do agree that if you are only going to do one job then going to Harbor is a good idea. But I did a search here on this forum for Harbor Freight and everybody said that the nailers where jamming. So my question to you is: Is it the cheapo nails/staples that are supplied with the nailer or is it the actual nailer? I figure you would know better since you actually have a crew using the thing and you have had plenty of time to get acquainted with the nailer.

The pneumatic uses the same staples as the Bostitch. It can shoot the ¾, 1 ½” or 2” as far as I can tell it is a direct knock off, parts are interchangeable. They don’t complain about it jamming we bought it in a pinch when both crews where installing floors at the same time. We do a lot of custom trim and finish work as well, we can usually schedule around floors and trim/finish, but we got caught on our schedule and decided that it would be a good compromise for when we can’t schedule around two floors going down at the same time.

I have purchased other H Freight products and some are now my daily users but then others I burned out in a day to a week. You never know. For the price its been well worth the gamble.

My little brother has a harbor freight one as well and he said it's a good value and has no problem with jamming as well. He uses it daily to install about 400 500 sf consistantly.

Another thought on them jamming is oil the thing right out of the box. I noticed some of the comments where they opened it brand new and started stapling and it jammed almost instantly, it probably was not oiled if that was the problem. It works as good as the Bostitch it just has to be oiled and repaired more. It’s milled with cheaper metals etc. Put it this way, if I had to start a third crew I would probably get the HF and save the money. If the crew was my main floor crew, I would get the Bostitch. If I where DIY I would get the HF. I however would never again buy a HF 12” sliding compound miter saw or brad nailer.

Can anyone comment on the reconditioned Bostitch nailers? I assume it's new seals and probably a new pad on the bottom?
