Hello All!

It has been a while since I've been around the board, and I am so happy it is back up and running now because I have a question!

Was at the big box stores this weekend looking at Samples, and trying to get a feel for what kind of flooring I'm interested in...Now I've discovered I'm in need of some serious help!

I'm interested in a floating floor, but not so interested in Laminate (unless you have a REALLY good looking one)...So that kind of points me to the Engineered stuff.

Also, are there plank type engineered floors - I was looking at some samples, and I noticed that some of them don't look so hot...They kind of give the look of a laminate floor instead of a hardwood floor...I'd be willing to consider most anything though as long as it looks pretty decent

Another part of my criteria which is pretty limiting is that I'd like to keep the price right around $3/sq.ft. which means...

Anyone have any recommendations for a good floor?

I've been looking at what hardwood installer has to offer and there are so many brands, and so many floors....Hard to choose something!!

Forgot a couple of things....

Anyone ever use/hear/know anything about the Timber Top brand?

Also, is 3/8" a pretty good thickness to go with??
