Used Bona prep many times. The idea is to buff it into the existing finish with a disc buffer and a 3M maroon pad. The pad will push the prep into the finish a little bit and slightly soften it . It should get into most of the micro bevels too but if you really want to get nuts and the square footage isn't too huge, you can do the micro bevels by hand.
Once you do all that , you need to use prep again with a microfiber pad to clean the film off of the floor. This can be a pain in the butt sometimes.Once the floor is clean , yo uare ready to coat.
Don't bother with a sanding sealer. It's an unnecessary step as the sealer will take up bonding space that the urethane needs to stick properly . Using a sealer will hurt you rather than help you. If you prep the floor thoroughly, new urethane will stick perfectly.
Aluminum oxide finish is no picnic .Take your time with it.
