I've been lurking hear for some time now...I am getting ready to install 3/4" 3-7 inch reclaimed hardwood flooring from Elmwood Hardwoods. It is a mixture of hardwoods that have been kiln dried before being milled. I live in Iowa and have a humidistat on my furnace. After speaking with one of their product engineers he basically said I could either use Bostich's Best and 2" staples or I could just use staples and rosin paper. I am acutely aware of the staples vs cleat debate...what would you all do? Cleats and mastic or staples and mastic or none of the above? Thanks in advance.

Staples and kraft paper for me. Not a fan of red rosin paper. Full trowel glue is messy.

Thank you for the reply...there was red rosin paper on the 3/4 oak I took up. Looked to be doing an okay job. I will look into the Kraft paper. Of note, I will be adding another layer of 1/2 plywood over the existing 3/4 OSB. Floor joices are 16" on center. Hopefully some others will chime in here too with their opinions. Thank you.
