Hey folks. Have a real wood fooor with 3/4 thickness and about 2in wide. Looks like an old gymnasium wood floor. Anyhow there is a popping and crackling noice when we walk in high traffic areas. It’s on a concrete subfloor with plywood underlaying. I drilled holes and injected Locktite II glue and within a couple days the wood strips absorbed moisture from this glue as it dried (water based glue) and my boards started to swell. Each week the swelling goes down bit buy bit. Thankfully I didn’t do this in very many places. It did however love the popping noise.
Here’s the crux of my question, what glue or adhesive is recommended for real hardwood floors to inject as a temporary solution for the popping and crackling sound? I plan to also use nails on these boards once I find the right adhesive to inject.
I found the DriTec glue but it says do not use with real hardwood. Please help! The noise is driving me crazy.
