My 5 inch reclaimed oak came today. It is sitting in the room where it will be installed. I have 8" OC wood 2x3 furring down on the floor and I am goimng to install directly over it. I hope to use 1/8" or 1/16" ceramic tile spacers between planks to give room for expansion/contraction. The adjoining room that was finished over 80 years ago has spacing at least that large, so I am trying to match.
Is there a book that tells me what to do? The wood is end matched. Do I snap a line perpedicular to the door way? Or do I just start at one side and nail down the tongues and work my way across?
