Well there are a lot a variables. If installing solid hardwood on concrete, you need to anchor plywood to the concrete to nail the flooring to. For this and installation, sanding, and finishing you would be looking at about $8-$10 per square foot for the labor. To float an engineered wood floor, it would be roughly $2.50-$3 per square foot. To glue down engineered wood it would be roughly $3-$3.50 per square foot. To install floating laminate about $2-$2.50 per square foot.

I like to figure my going rate to stay in business, between $50-$100 an hour, but I'm self employed, without anyone dictating my worth, but me and the homeowner.

$8- $25 an hour if your on the books and productive.

Going rates are for employees.

Independent businesses have the ability to show a profit & loss. Keeping the losses at bay, is the trick if your basing your price on someone else's worth.
There is a fine line between slave and making a profit, when working for anyone but the property owner..

About 50% of the rates mentioned. The area is vastly competitive.
