Hi there,

I'm a newbie to hardwood floor installations.

I purchased brazilian walnut engineered clic flooring for my living room. Leading up to my living room are 4 or 5 steps. I had some questions about the stair installation which I'm hoping someone can answer:

- Can I use the same engineered hardwood planks for my risers and treads?
- If the answer to the question above is yes, I'm assuming I should use a clic stair nose piece for each step to connect to my planks?
- Are most of the clic hardwood floors compatible with each other? I believe my hardwood manufacturer is out of business.
- I see alot of talk about stair treads and stair noses; what's the benefit of using one over the other?

Thanks

Yes you can use the flooring for the treads and risers. And yes you are right about using stair nosing for each tread. Their are tons of types of click lock flooring some may be compatible, but some will not be. The benefit of solid treads vs engineered are just the fact that the solid is one piece and the solid can be refinished more times in the future.
