Just wanting some recommendations on an economically priced air compressor that will work well with the Bostitch MIIIFS that I just purchased.

What do you recommend?

I won't be using this compressor real often but after I finish my 500 sqft of floor I'll use it occasionally around the house.

Question 2: If I were to put thin felt pad on the plastic plate on the bottom of the stapler so it doesn't scratch my prefinised Braz Cherry, will it really throw off the angle the staple is driven and mess it up?

If so, do you have any recommendations to prevent scratching the prefinished floor?

Question 3: Do you think I can just use a finish nailer to face nail the first few rows of my 3/4" solid Braz Cherry? I didn't know if that would work or not because the wood is so hard.

Thanks

If the foot plate is in good shape it won't scratch it, but Bostitch now has a foot plate made for prefinished that i am hearing good thing about.

A finish nailer will work for face nailing. Look in the Bostitch owner manual for the cfm required, I think the compressor should produce at least 4.0 at 90lbs but I am not looking at a manual.

1. Costco has a nice compressor (Cambell Hausfeld) that you can mount to the wall of your garage. You can easily slide it off the mount when you need to take it in the house. 2 gallon 130 PSI $69.00

2. Many professionals put masking tape on the nailer/stapler to prevent scratching.

Good Luck!!

Yep, I'm using the Costco Campbell/Hausfield. I've done about 300 square feet so far, and it's been fine. I have it set to about 80 psi on the MIIIFS.
