Hi,

We're building a new house and have 3/4" solid Patagonian Rosewood for the majority of the 1st floor. Our subfloor was supposed to be 3/4" T&G OSB which would be fine to install hardwood over. However, it's actually 23/32". I realize it's very close, but still...is it adequate? Trying to add something on top would be not only expensive, but would mess up all the exterior doors height wise.

Suggestions?

You are golden. But it would be wise to install the flooring running across the flooring joists. Unless it is a post and beam constructed house

Thanks. We will be going perpendicular to the joists.

It was a supreme honor.
By the way, they measure and lable most lumber prior to milling, thus the lesser meaurements at the store.

How do you come to that conclusion. The mills will argue with you about this!

3" will be 3" at time of milling. If the flooring was milled wet, it will shrink after milling.
