Hello

I know you professionals dislike shortcuts, but I was wondering if it would be possible for me to skip installation of the isolation barrier, when I install my 1/4" cork underlayment.

I live in an upper story condo, and am replacing my carpet with engineered wood flooring 5" x 36" 1/2" thick. My subfloor is accoustic concrete.

Other then making things a little noisier, am I causing myself any other problems by skipping this step?

Thank you

Isn't the cork considered the isolation barrier???

I see a lot of instructions that call for a 2" vertical strip needing to be installed on the walls that the cork underlay butts up against. I would like to 'skip" putting a 2" high strip of cork on all my walls.

thanks again
