So this question is about my NEW floors which I hope to have installed soon, vs. the other questions I've been asking about my existing floor in need of some repairs. I have gotten four estimates for the new floor, three of which I am not even considering because they would require me to rip out 1,000 square feet of existing floor which is really in pretty good shape............I found one guy that will work with me to very closely match the new with what exists already. My question...............he is quoting me a price (materials only) of $5.50 per square foot for this particular engineered wood. I have been able to find the materials only through another source at $4.50 per square foot. I would really like to use this guy for multiple reasons, and realize that every business is in business to make a profit, so I'm not expecting him to sell the material 'at cost', but I also want to make sure that what he is quoting me is not an unreasonable mark-up. Also, is $2.50 per square foot reasonable for installing?? Thanks for the input
