Hello All,

How do I wrap qtr round around a round corner? The baseboard options I am looking at have round sections to make the corner. Oddly I can't find curved piece of qtr round for this purpose... Any thoughts? Am I just not finding it?

Thanks,

--David

Most of the homes out here have round outside corners. I remove and reset the baseboards. It's a cleaner look.
I'm not sure what to tell you if it's too late to r&r the base. Installers out here that use quarter round or shoe moulding cut the moulding at a 45 before the round corner, (undercut the corner and slide the floor under it ). IMO it looks aweful. I'm not even sure how great a hunk of quarter round or shoe would look on one of those round corners, if they were available.

Flexible moldings work best in this situation.

you can cut them at 22.5 and use 3 pcs and glue and putty. other than that try to find some flexable quarter round.

It is possible to make 1/4 round with a radius but no fun at all. Easier is to use a flexible trim in these areas. However, if you do wish to create a piece(s) in solid wood, let me know and I will give you the long gruesome details of what you face, and the wook-working shop you will need, lol.

Around here, there are pre-made rounded trims designed just for these radius outside corners. Some use them, some do not. Many do the diagonal piece where the two long legs are capped at the corner with a piece at a 45 degree angle. Flex mold is very expensive but you should only use it right at the corner and a little back to tie in with solid trim. It paints fine but doesn't stain the same as real wood.
