Has anyone purchased wood from the internet? Was it a good experience? Would you recommend buying it on the net or at a local floor store?

Thanks

Well, If you are buying your wood from this site, you will be in good hands. I purchased wood for 4 rooms from this site. The folks you will deal with - Ken an Gina - are very nice, professional, and easy to work with. They have gone out of their way to help me and resolve problems. AND, their prices are great!!! I would have no reservations buying from this site again.

I would advise you to know what you want, and how much. And be sure it is what you want!!! Due to shipping, buying from the web is not like running out to your local H-D and picking up that one extra piece you need.

On-line buying is great! I have not heard of any nightmares in the last 5 years, unlike 5 years ago and the infancy of on-line flooring purchasing.

The main players have the bugs worked out.

If you buying reputable name-brand ones, then why not? You are going to get the same wood. Online is much cheaper and you might avoid getting taxed. I don't know if I would buy non-name brands and over ebay or something like that. I do all shopping over the internet and I bought the wood floor over the internet. But I was able to check the quality of the wood at other stores locally first. It was a 8000$ purchase and I wanted to see before I bought it.
