Have researched intensively and am still not satisfied that I am clear on an issue considering the parameters listed below and am searching for some help.

Flooring: Engineered/click/floating
Sub Flooring: OSB
Foundation: apprx 3 ft crawl space with external coating around sub-grade block foundation
Construction: new
Geographical Humidity: on the dryer side.
Underlayment: ???

Here is the question: From what I have found it appears that Roberts 2-1 would be appropiate for my application with the above parameters. I know many of you will say to moisture test the crawl and I may very well do that. I know from the flora on my lot and conversations with my builder that the surrounding soil is on the dryer side. Assuming I had an expected/normal amount of crawl space moisture, is this an appropiate product? On the contrary, assuming I had an abnormal/higher level of moisture; what would be the recommendation.

I know there are a lot of "what if" scenarios, so I am overall just looking for basic material application suggestions.

Any advice would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks,
Brian

Here in Florida I/we don't deal with many crawl spaces, unless working in a much older home. Most construction down here is on slab. That being said, some slabs can be quite high in moisture content, especially newer construction, and any of the quality 3-in-1 underlayments have never failed on me for any floating install. I have even gone as far as to lay 6 mil. poly underneath the underlayment.

Is this the Robert's that HD sells? The stuff with the little foam balls? If so, it should work. I try to steer customers away from that stuff though. I believe there is much better underlayment available. I have done many jobs where the customer already had the material, and I always try to get them to take back the underlayment and let me take care of providing it, or tell them where to get some.
