All,

After a pretty successful install of Jatoba (learned a few things), I am now ready to take on the challenge of installing Red Oak through the main living area. My wife has said it's prefinished or nothing because she's not having the hassle and mess of site finishing. We want to go with a 3/4" solid plank that's 3-1/4" wide, Select grade, and with a warm, honey toned finish.

In the current market now, please give me your top three manufacturers based on quality, consistency, good lengths, etc. to take a look at.

TIA!!! This site has been so helpful - especially Gary's tips!

In pre-finished lines, the consistent top performers have been:

* Mirage
* Mullican
* Mercier
* Tembec/Muskoka
* Somerset
* Lauzon

I'll second the Muskoka and Lauzon ¾ solid. I have worked with the other brands, in engineered only.

Thanks! Local supplier has Mirage and Muskoka. I'll take a look this weekend!
