We installed BR111 Engineered Brazilian wood about a month ago. I am having problems with the finish. The first problem is that within a hour of cleaning the floor, you can see every little footprint in the floor. The second problem I am having is that there seems to be a film on the floor even right after cleaning it. I am using a damp(water) microfiber mop as recommended by the manufacturer. We are so frustrated that our new flooring always looks bad. I replaced my carpet with wood and now I am having big time regrets. Has anyone had this experience with their floors and can offer any suggestions? We have 1,000 sq ft of this flooring and it's driving me nuts!

have you ever cleaned the floor with anything other than the damp microfiber cloth?...Did the installers wipe the floor down with mineral spirits or paitn thinner after the install?..sometimes mineral spirits leaves a haze on top of the floor that water alone wont remove. you can usually see footprints etc' in the haze. you might want to get some Bona clean and wipe down the floor to strip any residue and get back to the factory finish.

Wipe in one direction. If you go back & forth, your just swearing dirt & dust.

thanks for your replies. my husband insalled the flooring himself and did not add anything to the floors. I also have cleaned the floor several times including when the flooring was already clean. I tried cleaning it 3x last night to get the film/haze/streaks off with no luck. My main frustration are the footprints on the floor. I have spoken to other people with darker wood floors and they say they have never had this problem. The footprint problem has been since day one of having these floors. We are hating these floors so much that we are wanting to move! Does anyone have the problems with footprints?

Sorry to hear your having this problem. I installed 3/4 Br-111 Brazilian Teak and have had no problems with footprints. Maybe you should have Br-111 comeout and inspect it?

You might want to try a product called PolyCare - which seems to be a system similar to Bona. It's what BR-111 recommends for cleaning on their website. Has anyone had any good or bad experiences with this product?
