Hi all I'm new on the board. I just moved into an apartment in Germany, 4 months ago, and it has brand new floors. They say they are Oak but seem soft. The issue I'm having is that they stain very easy and when I try to clean them I wind up with a white haze after scrubbing with a damp cloth. Does any one know what type of oil might be used on this floor. I clean with Murphys oil soap and water. This apartment has wood floors through out except in the bathrooms, so entries and kitchen are quite a problem. when we found out we were going to be stationed here we purchased a bunch of carpets, but not this many! I put Australian Cypress with a Bona 2 stage in my last home and it was maintenance free but this is going to be a handfull and take my whole security deposit if I can't get a handle on it.
