installed laminated glue down plank flooring. all went well. am coating it with water based poly-urathane. Olympic brand. cleanig excess glue off with low-odor mineral spirits. first half of floor coating went well, very smooth shine. using synthetic pad for application. PROBLEM -- began to coat the second half of room, and put down two coats, as per directions on the can. when it dried, it was covered with hundreds of small "dimples", or "craters" about 1/4" in dia. there seems to be a tiny pinhole in center of each one. also, where the ends of the planks meet, the poly is thicker and did not flow into the seam. sanded the entire affected area with #400 sandpaper and also synthetic steel wool. got it all smooth, but not quite down to bare wood. had to hand sand, because it is laminated and cannot sand through the top finish. re-applied thin coats and the same problem appears, more craters and dimples. what can be done to stop this? it did not happen on the other half of the room. the brand of floor is Cryntel, OakWood Plank # 88032 Model # 95-400 any help will be greatly appreciated. thank you, tom.
