I just started my fist hardwood floor project. I'm having issues my floor nailer. I purchased it new a few days ago. It's a Bostitch 16-Gauge flooring pneumatic nailer (model# BTFP12569). I'm using a Porter Cable 6 gallon, 150psi air compressor. I'm using 2 inch Bostitch L-nails.

The nails won't sink all the way. They only go about half to 3/4 into the floor. The wood floor is also splitting in the grove. I have tried hitting it harder and using a higher psi (120), but nothing is changing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

What wood flooring is this and whats the subfloor made of ? Your obviously not getting enough air to the nailer.
