Hey guys, got my self a drama.

I am in the middle of a staining job, where I have been staining a Kempas floor with Ebony and overcoating with Bona Mega. The floor was looking a million dollars ----- until the final coat.

I put the coat (Bona Mega Satin) on this morning (in Australia), and I did notice more bubbles and a slightly milky colour in the finish, but I wasn't too worried about it.

However, when I dropped back to check out the floor I felt sick.

The floor has two completely different sheen levels about halfway across (gloss and matt/satin).

I have assumed that what has happened is that either the bottle of Mega wasn't shaken enough, or was too cold.

I am hoping that I can buff the floor and just run another coat over the top and this will even out the sheen level.

Any suggestions?

May possibly need to dry and check out the sheen after dry and then decide, the finish may have just not dried completely. If still looks bad screen and recoat, make sure to mix the finish well and mix enough to do the entire area, and make sure the finish is room temp.

Thanks Mickey, proof tinted a coat of Mega with ebony after a buff with a screen grit. Will seal it tonight with another coat.
