You only need the T-moulds for a floating installation; not for conventional nail down applications.

Dennis: Now i am confused.i want to terminate my 45 deg. at the hallway and without routing in a groove into my cut boards how can i start my hall run??do i just butt and glue the ends to a starter board that has the tongue cut off at the hallway?? i was planning on using a "T" and allowing a expansion gap.

Well, since you are planning on terminating the 45 degree install at the hall, then you SHOULD groove and spline the connection. You could however, simply glue the first straight piece in the hall, and the ends of the 45 degree cuts; using a PL type adhesive. I have seen this done successfully so it would work. I believe every effort should be made to avoid the use of a "t-mould" at this juncture. It will look cheap and unprofessional.

Dennis: Well i took your advice and slotted the 45 degree end pieces and glued in a spline on the hallway plank and measured twice maybe three times and taped my boards to minimize chipping before cutting using a 80tooth 12"chop saw.i had to Magyver a cutting Jig to use my skil saw to cut in a slot.i was slotting 3 boards at a time in my workmate making 3 separate cuts to get me the width i needed, this was slow going but it worked out well.I also used PL400 on the ends where they terminated. My wife and i are VERY PLEASED with the results and i owe you a big thanks as well as others you offered advice along the way.We are very glad we went with the 1/4" cork sheet underlay just the fact that we can hardly hear our pooch's toe nails tippytapping
