I plan to install 3/4" hardwood and new 3/4" t&g OSB. Removing the carpet shows that my sub-floor currently is 3/8 particle board. Should I remove this particle board or install the OSB over it?

Only 3/8 particle board? Do you live in a manufacturered home or something? There's got to be another layer of somethingn under that.
