I'm building a new home. I'm getting mixed opinions about whether I should purchase prefinished hardwood or unfinished hardwood floors and have them finished on site. Any advice?

If you are building, then I'd go with unfinished for sure.

Heck, we aren't building and still living through the inconvenience. There's something beautiful about an onsite floor that you can't get with the prefinished.

cant beat a well done sand and finish job for a true custom look. Prefinished just does not cut it. They do look better than they have in years past but it still not the same.
