WARNING: Weekend (and weeknight) warrior question ahead!

I am working on the first of 19 stairs (& landing) for our hardwood install. We have pre-finished stair nosing that matches our 9/16" engineered planks. The first floor has been all gluedown over concrete slab (Bostik BST, per wood mfg directions). I was planning to continue the gluedown up the stairs as well . Will this be enough for the nosing? I estimate almost 1/2 the width of the nosing extend past the riser below, so there could be a lot of pressure on that piece as folks walk up and down the stairs. Will the Bostik be stong enough to hold in this situation? Should I consider something else like liquid nails? Or should I face nail through the nosing to secure it better (I've not nailed anything yet on this install)?

Thanks for your help,
Joe

Start at the bottom and work your way up.

I glue, blind nail and face nail my stairs.

All face nails are hidden by the riser board, except the face nail in the nosing.

I like using glue from a caulking gun, for less mess.

Thx for the response flooryguy. My planks will be running parallel to the risers, so I'll only be able to nail one course of planks where I could possibly cover them up. Am I to understand that you put the risers on AFTER the planks, setting them on top? I was planning to set the riser first then butt the planks directly to them. Since this is a distressed surface, I felt that it would be easier to get a clean fit as long as I can rip a straight line.

Sounds like I'll need to face nail the nosing, which means it's time to test my skills in finding the right stain to match the prefinished material!
