I moved a small piece of furniture that I couldn't lift by myself (back problems) but had placed on top of a small cotton area rug. Unfortunately it left a slight mar across the floor.

We have a water based poly.

Is is possible to buff the mar out? or other suggestions to remove?

thanks

For individual boards, I tape of the entire affected board, work out hte imperfection by hand with something like 150 grit paper or similar abrasive.I finish off the area with 220 grit paper and then vacuum and coat.Remove the the tape right away and let dry.

It would be best to coat it with the same material you previously used. try to make sure there is no air flowing over the area or the material will dry too quickly and possibly dry too satin.
