Last year I had some wood flooring put down over a concrete slab. It was a glue down type of installation. Almost immediately after they finished, we noticed some areas that popped when you stepped on them. This popping (in my case) was due to uneven or low spots in my concrete. I called the contractor who a few days later came out with a jar of this milky white substance, a small drill and a turkey injector. I watch the process which involved, drilling a small hole and injecting the substance until the vacant area under the wood was filled. We couldnt walk on the affected areas for 24 hours. And the most important thing was that after the curing or drying or hardening process took place, the floor no longer popped in those areas. The problem was that he ran out of the milky white substance and said he'd have to order more and come back. The come back part never happened and i can;t reach him by phone. So i noticed while searching this forum that many people have popping issues but none of the posts I found described a fix like mine. The problem I have is that I can't find what that milky white substance was called. If memory serves me right, he said it was some kind of acrylic that hardens and fills the gap. It came in about a quart sized container and was premixed, you didnt have to do anything other than open and start using it.

Does anyone know what product the contractor may have been using? It wasn't concrete based. And it could be injected under the floor board with a turkey injection needle. Your help is appreciated.

Thanks
Smitty

Most urethane adhesive manufacturers have these devices available. We use one from Franklin on a daily basis. But as far as the milky substance is concerned, I dont know what that is. The injectors we use incorporate a mixing tube for a two part epoxy, and works well.

DriTac makes a nice system. Two different adhesives; one for solid and bamboo and one for engineered. Check it out.

It was Dritac, you can buy kits locally. But make sure you buy the correct one as the one for engineered will cup and damage a solid hardwood floor. So I am assuming the contractor used the correct one and yours is an engineered floor.
