We just had our 76 yr old Hemlock floors refinished. They told us they were going to sand and then use polyurethane, I believe three coats. Today was the first warm day since we moved in and there are literally balls and puddles of poly seeping up from the wider spaces in between the floor boards. At first glance I thought it was sap, from them being a Pine wood flooring, but then I smelled it and its 100% Poly. In some places it is stripping the finish off and on a few places there are puddles of it coming up. We had then done over 3 weeks ago!! Please someone tell me what this is, if its normal, and what I do next. I would love to get some professional insight before calling the company.

you have polyballs! Not much you can do besides let it runs its course. this is written regarding a maple floor but it can happen with any type.

they used 3 strait coats of poly.... a sealer as first coat can avoid this issue... not that it makes it right or worng..just the facts.

its undried poly in the seams, that is being pushed up due floor expansion.....not much you can do right now...they will stop..then take a credit card or plastic putty knie and just scrape them off...they will come off easy and is 99% of the case..no harm done to finish...

you can make your call..they will probably tell you the same ting..and if any resulting damage is done..im sure they will be happy to correct for you..
but i dont think you will have a concern.

i wouldnt use the word "normal" but i happens form time to time...main reason i dont use strait poly on floor anymore
