I am using Minwax polyurethane fast-drying clear gloss.
I have applied 2 thin coats of poly so far and have some questions before I put down the last coat.

1. I noticed that after 24 hours of application of the poly, that when I walk on the floor that I'm leaving footprints. Also, I noticed that after 24 hours of drying there are areas on the floor that are glossy while other areas are flat.
So my question is how long does the poly need to dry so your not leaving behind footprints?
Do I need to lighty buff the floor so there are no blotchy areas?

2. I noticed the floor is slippery to walk on.
Will a light sanding take care of this?

You should really wait 48 for oil based.



This is because there is not enough poly built up. You may be applying your coats too thin.
