We have lived in our gut rehab for 3 months. We have beautiful Amendoim floors. However in only three months we have so many pock marks on the floor. It looks like someone shot a beebee gun from the ceiling to the floor. These marks were not present after our move. Our contractor said it must be something we are doing because the "load" to make the mark is significant. My husband and I are average size people, no pets yet, and I don't walk around in spiked heels. I realize some marks are "character" marks but it is pretty significant. What causes this and what can I do to fix this. We have invested in a rug to prevent further marks. Incidentally the contractor told me to clean the floors with a wet swifer using Murphy's oil soap sparingly. Could those cleaning products have rendered my floor vulnerable to normaly wear and tear?
Thanks,
newowner

What ever is putting a high point load psi, to dent the wood. Find the culprit and you will know how to solve your concerns.

You have kids or pets? Do so entertaining during the holidays?(friends and family over)

How about the soles of your shoes, with rocks inbedded in the soles tread design?

no pets, no kids the majority of the time we take our shoes off at the door even guests usually take the shoes off...I will take a look at the soles of our shoes. Could the cleaning products (swiffer) make the floor more vulnerable?

Who wears the high heels in your home?

This complaint is simply: Wood denting.

And wood dents... Because it is wood.

Is this a solid or engineered floor? Just curious.
