I think I have messed up this project. I was refinishing red oak solid floors in my home approx 900 sqft . I am using AFM Naturals Oil and Wax finish. I sanded the floors down and applied one coat of the finish after a thorough vaccum cleaning. I let the oil sit on the sruface too long to seep in and now I am seeing a film over the floors that is hard to remove as the oils have polymerized. I wanted to put a second coat of the finish but am hesitant since the film will not allow it absorb into the wood. Should I just sand the floor down and start again ordo some light sanding using a mineral spirit on the floor to get the film off before I put another coat on?
