Is it the ole...blame the installer game....he shoulda thrown out half the shipment. I get it.[/quote]

It is easier to blame the one with the least time and fewer resources to fight back. I suppose if we were selling the product it would be up to us to blame someone else also.

Exactly how hard do you hit a defective board to make it narrower... lol  A board that has that much of a variation is definitely defective...... LL will spam you three times a day if they ever get your e-mail adress

NWFA/NOFMA INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS FOR FACTORY FINISHED SOLID WOOD

Item Standard
• Standards should be maintained AT ALL TIMES to the actual measurements,
NOT the acceptable allowance.
Width
Actual width ≤ 3¼” (82.55 mm), ± .005” (.13 mm)
> 3¼” (82.55 mm), ± .008” (.20 mm)

Get out a digital micrometer reading mm and decimal because a 100 lb stock business card reads 0.013.
More than this would be out of tolerance.
And yes mickey basically every mfg states they will allow up to 5% they will not do anything about BUT over that they will even lumber liquidators. HOWEVER INSTALLATION IS ACCEPTANCE BY ALL MANUFACTURERS. Soooo if it is not to tolerance DON'T INSTALL IT OR YOU WILL EAT IT.
