I need some help from some of you experts out there.

I am likely going to purchase a Pinnacle Estate Classics engineered hardwood floor.

The installation instructions say it can either be nailed down or glued down. However I am considering installing it as a floating floor with an underlayment such as Floor Muffler. I would glue the tongue and grove.

I am considering the floating floor option for ease of installation, but more importantly for comfort. I think floating floors that have a little give to them are easier on the joints, etc.

The questions I have:
Am I crazy for considering an option beyond what the manufacturer suggests?
If I do install it as a floating floor what are the potential problems that I may have down the line?

Thanks in advance for any help on this topic.

By the way, this will be an installation in a new house on a concrete slab.

There are some, where the milling of the T&G will not allow it to be glued successfully. The manufacturer know what can & can't be done with their flooring. Making your own rules up as you go, places you as the expert how it will perform.
