I wonder if anyone could help? I am installing a solid 5/8 bamboo floor in a room that is 11feet by 18feet. There was carpeting down with wafer board under the carpet, both were removed. The joists under the floor is a truss which is 24 inches on center running parallel with the long wall which is the front wall of the condo. There is 1/2 inch ply down and I installed another layer of 1/2 inch over the existing ply perpendicular to the original ply. Is it more important to install the flooring perpendicular to the joists or can I install the flooring parallel to the floor joists themselves. I would prefer to have the flooring running parallel to the long walls if at all possible, but I want the install to be done right, even though it may look strange when entering the room on the long wall. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Joel

With two layers you can run the floor whichever direction you prefer as long as the subfloor is solid.
