Hi, I live in Vancouver BC and Waterlox is not available here (unless I go to Blaine Washington) but I have found a product called Penofin. It's made from Brazilian Rosewood oil which coincidently is the type of wood that I'm putting down on my floors. Anyone got any knowledge/experience with Penofin? Thanks.

I have used it here for exterior decks. However, although they say it can be used for interior, I believe you would be better off with another product specifically made for floors, such as Waterlox. See if you can have it shipped to you. Should be able to; others do. All penetrating oil finishes (there are many) will require more maintenence to look good. Waterlox looks great and does build up better than most.

I had the same problem getting Waterlox out to Ottawa.... The Waterlox people gave me a list of Canadian suppliers... (5 in total!) I wound up buying from Exotic Woods in Toronto. They shipped by UPS (the only carrier that will take it) and it cost about $40 for delivery)

The Waterlox stuff gets great reviews from the experts on this site so I chose to go with it.... I am in the middle of the sanding now... and will post an update when I'm done....

Regards
Doug
