Hi All;

I posted this in the general forum, but 4 days and no answers. I am hoping i can get someone with some experience with putting in a partial hardwood floor alongside carpet so it will not shift:

I am stumped about how to install a partial wood floor on concrete and keep it from moving. Rather than hardwood in the whole basement (Engineered for basements), i am only doing around a bar in 2 corner and a 4 ' wide walkway at the bottom of my stairs, then carpet on the other side.

My question is, if the floor is "floated" like the company recommends and i have the underlayment and 6 mil poly, what if anything will stop it from shifting ? do i glue the flat molding that connects the floor to the carpet or don't use unerlayment and glue directly to concrete ? the flooring company says to float the floor with the vapour barrier.... any ideas ?

thanks in advance.
