why do people constantly rip out these floors, laid correctly i think they look stunning, once worked in a duke`s house (British title). panga panga floor with black boarder and coat of arms from 1700s laid in the centre before the oak stair case. it was stunning.

Because they are idiots I guess. Some people are very fashion conscious and therefore, are always chasing the latest fad. Myself, I find that most wood floors typically fit the architecture of the home and should be repaired if possible. I can understand some not liking that busy fingerblock parquet. Or even some of the other types utilizing very small pieces that look busy. But big, classic designs look great, with the correct surroundings.
