You could use a trio but normally a good drum sander like a Hummel is what's used. Start with as high a grit as you can, 40 or 50 grit maybe and then try to finish off with 120 or 150 .You can get to 150 in 3 cuts with a good machine like a hummel. ON your final cut, you would be using the machine with the drum tensioner set at "fine"
After machining and edging, you need to buff the hell out of the floor. I typically use a 120 grit paper under my disc buffer and then finish off with a 120 grit screen. If you do it right, you'll get all the sanding cross lines out .
