I would like to replace my carpet with wood floors, but I don't think that solid wood floors will work for me. I am considering installing engineered wood flooring and have been trying to sort through the myriad brands, when a friend of mine came across a brand called ParaTimber at a good price - the budget is tight on this project. I've never heard of it and can't seem to find any reviews on this product. Has anyone worked with this flooring? It is a 3 strip 8" x 8' plank, with a 3mm wear layer, click lock type, floating floor, with 40 year finish warranty. Choice of Ash, Oak or Cherry for about $3.50 a foot. Any information is appreciated.

Paratimber is licensed to use the "UNICLIC" locking system so in that at least, it is a good product. They have manufacturing facilities in the US, Europe, and China, so the quality will depend to a degree on its specific origin.
Given the price you mentioned, I imagine the product you are looking at is from China (mere speculation on my part) so you should inspect at least a carton before plunking down yer dollars. If your salesguy is reticent to let that happen,, do ya hear the alarm bells?
