I have a question about Parabond Plank Parquet adhesive. It's a high solids polymer, wet lay for engineered flooring. When installing 3/8" engineered plank with the required 3/16" square notch, how many minutes will an adhesive like this generally allow for minor adjustments before locking the wood down solid?

Thanks,
Don

It should tell you in the eprcs on the bucket, and you may find it on their website.

I've used the Millineum, which looked like multi purpose. Not as grabby as a urathane, little more slip. But never a problem as long as I used as directed. Get some 1 1/2 blue tape, (use the 3M) and use it. I also cheat, and brad nail the starters so they don't move.

All it says on the can that's relavant is don't spread more than you can cover in 45 minutes, it develops aggressive legging quickly to insure the flooring stays in contact with the subfloor and has good green strength and fast grab to eliminate scooting and slipping of boards.

My concern isn't preventing erroneous movement but how long I may retain the ability to make slight corrections, if they become necessary.

I know what you are saying Don. You must be like me and fret over stuff that ain't going to happen. :D

If you get the rows started out straight, square and use that blue tape you should be fine.

Hi Jerry. Yeah, I worry too much but I'm securing the wood around a pad of tile in an area that doesn't have anything close to square. I have to maintain proper spacing around the tile and make the other end match up just right for the header board. It's like trying to run a herd of cats since it's hard to tell if I have it absolutely perfect until getting most of the wood on the floor, It'll work out okay though. Always does :)

SK, I think this must be the same adhesive as the Milleneum you've used. Although it doesn't say Millenneum on the can, it's the same stuff as on the Parabond website that's now identified as Milleneum 2002 Engineered Plank and Parquet. This can has probably been hanging around for a while.
