We are looking for an engineered tongue and groove to be nailed/glued down on osb (with a layer of 3/8 plywood between). There is a large open area of 1100 square feet on the main with vaulted ceilings and lots of light.

We want a walnut color, and have found the following two floors:

Envision Fusionplus 5 Walnut

Provenzo Pallazo Verona- Walnut stained acaciahttp://www.provenzafloors.com/products/Premier.aspx?id=1033&gallery=true

The acacia is harder, and the finish is a slight distressed look so it would hide scuffs. It also looks really rich, with the dark edges. But I'm told it's made in china and a cheaper quality, with only a 3 ply. It also costs .50 a square foot more.

I love the look of the envision, but I worry that walnut is softer, and the smooth glossy finish will easily scuff and get damaged.

We don't have kids yet, but I'm very clumsy, and we will eventually (within 5 years likely). So how do we pick? Which one would you choose?

I would pick anything that is not of foreign origin and absolutely not acacia if your in an arid zone.
